Hayden joins the NTESERIES commentary team for the first time during our 2022 Dry Season Cup. Organisers sat down with Hayden and asked him a few questions, including who his pick was for the series!

Hayden McMahon
Based in Adelaide
Real life commentary experience:
SA Commentary for 1x real life south Australian state championship race meeting (had a blast!)
Sim commentary experience:
Commentary for a handful of championship sim racing events around 10 years ago. and 1x NTESERIES round
Dream road car:
R35 GTR. Would daily the hell out of it.
Dream track car:
Porsche 962. Or any Le Mans prototype for that matter.
Favourite Australian Track:
Mallala Motorsport park. It’s a challenging little circuit that rewards bravery, but has a great grassroots vibe. Love the place and I’ve had a lot of fun there.
Favourite World Track:
You can’t go past the history of Le Mans. It’s a track I would love to visit one day. (Fun on the sim too!)
Favourite Driver:
Rick Kelly, but since he retired, Andre Heimgartner. I think he’s seriously underrated and I wish he’d get a run in a top team.
Real life motorsport experience:
A couple years of drifting in an R32 Back in the day. Countless track days and hill climbs in my GT86 and purpose built 500rwkw Chrysler 300c (yes, seriously)
Sim racing experience:
Without starting a discussion on what’s a sim and what’s a game, I won a few Gran Turismo championships around 2010. I’ve raced on all the proper sims that have come to console but never took it too seriously. I’ve given iRacing a few attempts over the years but never had the computing power to run it properly. Definitely plan to one day!
Driver to watch in the 2022 NTESERIES Dry Season Cup:
Gianni Lutzu. I was really impressed with his outright pace and ability to carve back through the pack in race 1. Luck didn’t go his way in the first round but I expect big things from him this season
Other hobbies:
I make films about grassroots racers and their cars on The Pit Walk. I also help out with the Drifting SA & Adelaide Rally livestreams with camerawork and interviewing drivers. Talking to racers about cars is something I really enjoy. Other hobbies include building carbon fibre parts for the track car and spending time with my wife & 1 year old little girl… (and her sibling whose due in the next couple months) Thanks again for having me on board!
Organisers are thrilled to welcome Hayden to the commentary team for the 2022 NTESERIES Dry Season Cup, please join us in giving Hayden a warm welcome!
